Tell us a bit about how JG Scripts came to be. What’s your background and what led you to FiveM?

I come from a software engineering background and had just started my first major job in the field. A few months into it, a friend of mine began a FiveM server. As a lifelong Rockstar Games and GTA fan, I was instantly hooked. I’d already been exposed to FiveM RP through YouTubers like Jeff Favignano and Bay Area Buggs. I never imagined that writing FiveM scripts could become my full-time job – it still feels surreal.

What inspired you to start JG Scripts? Was there a gap in the market or a specific vision?

JG Scripts actually began by accident. I was amazed at what other creators had already built – the platform had become a space of endless possibilities. When the server owners found out I was a software engineer, they urged me to build custom scripts. I was deeply immersed in GTA RP and excited to contribute, especially since the scripting tech aligned with my day job.

Despite a New Year’s resolution to work less, FiveM scripting quickly became a passionate side project. I noticed the vehicle RP script category was underdeveloped – there were only a few options, often buggy and lacking support. I believed I could do better, and JG Scripts was born.

How long have you been running JG Scripts, and how quickly did it go from idea to launch?

I’ve been running JG Scripts for over three years. The first script was something I’d already built for our RP server, so polishing and expanding it only took about two weeks before it went public. We prioritize quality over quantity – while we only offer five products, some took extensive time to develop. For instance, our flagship script, JG Mechanic, took over six months of full-time work.

How did you determine what features, content, or monetization models to implement?

In the beginning, I built scripts I personally wanted to use – immersive and engaging experiences. As the store grew, community feedback shaped our direction. One unique differentiator is our ease-of-use philosophy. We want both players and server developers – especially newcomers – to have a smooth experience.

We developed the JG Scripts Configurator, a tool that lets users generate configuration files through a web UI without needing to code. It’s been a game-changer and has helped us stand out.

How did you grow a strong player base for JG Scripts?

We’ve always believed that quality speaks for itself. Our limited but polished script selection has gained strong word-of-mouth. Players who love them recommend them, and momentum builds from there.

In addition to organic reach, we’ve focused on YouTube and SEO to reach new users. We’ve been fortunate to grow without investing in paid ads.

What strategies have worked best to drive traffic, engagement, and purchases?

Alongside word-of-mouth, YouTube, and SEO, our custom website has been very effective. Using Tebex’s Headless API, we created a fully branded webstore that communicates our “high-quality scripts” identity. This has significantly improved our conversion rates.

What achievements are you most proud of?

Seeing people actively using and enjoying our scripts is the best part. A major milestone was when all three of our flagship scripts became the #1 most installed in their categories – that validation was incredible.

Another highlight was receiving the Top Creator award for 2024. It felt like a huge moment in my career to have that physical recognition of our success.

What advice would you give to aspiring or current server owners and developers?

Always aim to perfect your craft. Gaming and tech evolve constantly, and a passion for continuous learning is crucial. For me, JG Scripts wasn’t just a business lesson – it taught me that if you build a great product, it will speak for itself. Focus on the product first.

What do you appreciate most about being part of Tebex’s network?

What’s next for JG Scripts and your community?

I’m really optimistic about the future – both for JG Scripts and the FiveM platform. Rockstar’s acquisition of FiveM and the platform’s rise has validated the power of user-generated content in gaming. Independent creators now have a bigger stage than ever.

As for us, we’re sticking to our strengths. I’ve been working on a new script for a few months, and it’s nearly ready. I’m really excited to share it with the community!
