Senior PHP Developer

The Role

Recently acquired by Overwolf, the leading modding platform in the game industry, Tebex is a monetisation and payments platform, supporting thousands of server owners and content creators around the world on platforms including Minecraft, Rust, Discord, Ark, FiveM and more. We are currently looking for a talented PHP developer with commercial experience to join our team on a full-time basis to help Tebex continue to strengthen our position as market leader, to elevate the more junior members of the team with mentoring and training, and support our lead developer and CTO in planning, architecting and executing projects.

Your Responsibilities

Fully remote, this role is perfect for a developer looking to move into a senior/leadership role, with wide-ranging responsibilities:

• Design and build new features from our backlog
• Provide assistance on the more technical support requests on our primary SaaS platform
• Consider the security implications of features we build, and ensure that security considerations are accounted for in everything we do
• Writing unit tests to ensure code can be tested by CI pipelines

About You

The ideal candidate will be an enthusiastic developer who is well-versed in OOP with previous mid-level/senior experience. The majority of our codebase employs Laravel, so experience with Laravel is a must. We are looking for you to have experience in addressing and considering security implications of the code being produced, not just SQL injection, but considering more advanced factors such as the potential for RCEs and the like. We want to entrust you with the lead on larger development projects, so the ability to plan out and execute a project is important.

While we love mentoring and supporting our developers (and we are active in Slack all day!), you must be self-motivated and able to organise your own work independently on day-to-day tasks.

At Tebex, we are of the opinion that one size does not fit all - we use a variety of development processes and tools depending on what’s right for the product in question. As such, experience working with a range of tools (git, PHPUnit, phpstan, Jira, Trello etc) and processes is desired - everyone’s opinion is valued, so if you have an idea to improve something we’re doing and we’re able to do it, we will!
